Hay toda clase de configuraciones de motores para moto: 1, 2, 3, 4 o 6 cilindros; en paralelo, en V, en l\u00ednea, opuestos o hasta locuras como la Dodge Tomahawk, que no era otra cosa que el V10 de un Dodge Viper con manillar. Pero la Tinker Toy tiene la in\u00e9dita configuraci\u00f3n de 48 cilindros en l\u00ednea, dispuestos en 6 bancadas de 8 cilindros, apiladas en 3 \u201cpisos\u201d de 16 cilindros cada uno.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-59932\" src=\"https:\/\/fueluniverse.tv\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Whitlock-Tinker-Toy-2-770x578.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"770\" height=\"578\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fueluniverse.tv\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Whitlock-Tinker-Toy-2-770x578.jpg 770w, https:\/\/fueluniverse.tv\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Whitlock-Tinker-Toy-2-480x360.jpg 480w, https:\/\/fueluniverse.tv\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Whitlock-Tinker-Toy-2-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/fueluniverse.tv\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Whitlock-Tinker-Toy-2.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tres a\u00f1os le llevo a Whitlock armar este monstruo, <strong>partiendo del modesto motor de una Kawasaki S1, un monocil\u00edndrico de 249cc y 32 CV de potencia<\/strong>, del que fue uniendo varias unidades hasta lograr un motor de ocho cilindros en l\u00ednea, con su propio cig\u00fce\u00f1al. Luego repiti\u00f3 la misma operaci\u00f3n hasta lograr seis bloques de ocho cilindros en l\u00ednea, a los que adoso una transmisi\u00f3n de una BMW K1. La distribuci\u00f3n estuvo a cargo de seis unidades del Jaguar E-Type de 8 cilindros. Finalmente, para arrancar todo esto hizo falta instalar un peque\u00f1o motor auxiliar de 75cc debajo del asiento.<\/p>\n<p><strong>La cilindrada total es de 11.952cc y la potencia te\u00f3rica, sumando la potencia de cada uno de los motores, ser\u00eda de 1536 CV<\/strong>, aunque la cifra real deber\u00eda ser inferior por p\u00e9rdidas mec\u00e1nicas y rozamientos. De todas maneras, aun si la mitad de la potencia se perdiera, la cifra final ser\u00eda apabullante. Claro que una cosa es armar el motor, y otra muy distinta es poner esa potencia al suelo.
