Las CRF aparecieron en 2002, con motores cuatro tiempos para ir eliminando las dos tiempos originales pocas temporadas despu\u00e9s. La estructura de aluminio aument\u00f3 de 4 a 6 mil\u00edmetros y eso le da mayor dureza. El cuerpo de inyecci\u00f3n es de 44 mm, dos menos que la versi\u00f3n anterior, para mejorar el rendimiento a bajas revoluciones.
